What is JABG?

JABG stands for "Just A Block Game". I know, amazing name indeed, if I say so myself. Let me first introduce you to how it came into being. The game initially started as a Minecraft clone; then I realised I could make it infinite on all axes. Then I ported some parts to multiple threads until one day I decided to work on an engine. So I reshaped JABG's engine into a more versatile and advanced system (proper coordinate transformation systems, ticks, threading, world system, game instance and all that boring jazz).

However, it is no longer a Minecraft clone, as I have decided to use it as a base for my ideas. What I hated about all my attempts at a survival game was how limited my possibilities to change the world were. That was stupid and annoying. Then I realised that my little game I worked on from time to time is exactly that, except it lacked survival. Huh, interesting. So I worked on games with survival elements. Then I also had a project that is not even a game that has the base of what I wanted in my games.

Now, hopefully, if I keep developing this game, it has the potential to be a really hard and rewarding survival game. Lovely.
